Green Energy Metals Corp. is a private Colorado company created to produce the critical and strategic metals America needs for the green economy. They will be produced from domestic U.S. sources, particularly Colorado, in an environmentally sensitive fashion, using advanced recovery techniques and proprietary technology. Our initial focus will be on tellurium production for the thin-film solar panel industry. In addition, we will produce Gallium, Selenium, Indium, Silver and Cadmium for green energy industries. Our goal is to meet significant U.S. needs for these metals, while bringing high paying, high quality jobs to Colorado communities that need them. We are an active participant in the re-building of the American economy and the American industrial base.

Metals Needed for the Green Energy Economy

The Green Energy Economy requires rare earth metals, tellurium, indium, silver, gold, gallium, cadmium and other metals. In addition to these, the strategic metals of tungsten, antimony, bismuth, molybdenum and others will be critical to the re-building of the U.S. economy and its industrial base. Colorado has these metals in abundance. In fact, Colorado is one of the few places on earth with high grade deposits of many of these minerals. Colorado also has highly experienced hard rock miners, engineering talent, and a pre-existing, well placed, mining infrastructure to build on (mills, roads, housing, etc.).

Regarding the need for these metals, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), located in Golden, Colorado, has estimated that thin film cadmium-tellurium solar panels will account for 65% of world solar panel production by 2035. Extrapolating from their figures, one arrives at a possible projected need for tellurium of 676,000 tons by 2035. The world currently produces only 200 to 800 tons of tellurium per year. While it is unlikely that global supply will meet the huge projected tonnage requirements for tellurium by 2035, Green Energy Metals Corp. and Colorado will fill some of the gap.

Resource Investor Magazine has listed current supply for the following metals critical to solar panel production to be:

Why Colorado?
Colorado is one of the most highly mineralized areas in the world. We have a 150 year history of mineral production in the State. We also have what could be the highest concentration of critical and strategic metals resources in the world.

Let’s look at tellurium: Colorado has over eighty known mine sources of tellurium throughout the Colorado Mineral Belt. These sources include mines in Boulder County, Cripple Creek, Clear Creek County, Gunnison County, Silverton, Telluride and La Plata County. Tellurium was a very low price metal for many decades, and no firm has ever attempted to mine these deposits for it, or to process it from the ores of these mines. With the advent of Green Energy Metals Corp., this is changing.

Colorado has world class resources of almost all the metals critical to the Green Energy Economy. Green Energy Metals will work to produce them from the rich mineral deposits in the State.

U.S. Strategic Metals Needs
The U.S. is on the verge of a crisis of access to minerals critical to the green economy and national defense. These strategic minerals are found in abundance in Colorado.

The strategic metals crisis has been caused by the fact that the western industrialized world, including the U.S., has become heavily dependent on China for a wide array of strategic metals, and China is cutting back its exports. For example in August 2010, China announced they were going to cut back their export of rare earths by 72%. And in September 2010, they blocked their rare earth exports to Japan due to an otherwise unrelated diplomatic dispute. In other words, they are now using metal exports as a diplomatic club.

Politicians On Both Sides Of The Aisle Are Worried

Representatives from the State of Colorado sitting on both sides of the aisle are taking action to avert the crisis. For example Mark Udall ( D ): Introduced a bill design to restore our country’s leadership in the critical minerals and materials industry, which is increasingly important in the manufacture of clean energy and defense technology. (Press release, “Udall Backs Development of Critical Minerals and Materials”, February 22, 2011, http://markudall.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=933)

Doug Lamborn ( R ): Wrote an editorial to the Denver Post on June 8, 2011 with the title “The Importance of Domestic Minerals Production”, (http://lamborn.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=131&parentid=21&sectiontree=21,131&itemid=835)

Green Energy Metals Corp. will be part of the solution to America’s critical and strategic metals needs.

Who We Are

Green Energy Metals Corp. was founded by Todd Hennis, a 29 year veteran of the metals and mining industries. Mr. Hennis graduated from Harvard College in 1982 with honors in economics. His work at Harvard focused on the economics of the world metals industries. Since graduation Mr. Hennis has worked for two of the three largest trading firms for nonferrous metals, and founded his first Colorado mining company in 1987. Mr. Hennis has consulted to mining firms with properties in the U.S., South America, Mexico, and Europe. He currently serves as an advisor to mining firms in the strategic metals area in Europe and elsewhere.

The Hennis group of companies own many mining properties throughout Colorado. Green Energy Metals Corp. will access these and other mineral deposits in the State.

Green Energy Metals Corp. will draw upon the talents of other similarly experienced individuals in building its production of critical and strategic metals.

Our Focus

Our focus is to jump start the Colorado strategic metals industry and to support the United States in its time of economic need. An imminent national crisis will be upon us shortly, and we are preparing to help the U.S. rebuild the national economy and to fuel the green energy industry.

Prosperity for Depressed Communities

The location of many of Colorado’s critical and strategic minerals deposits are in areas of the State that are most in need of real economic development and high paying, long lasting, mining jobs. The U.S. is learning that you cannot de-industrialize and sustain a high standard of living. Colorado communities such as Silverton, Leadville and others learned this many years ago. It is time for a rebirth of our mountain communities with high paying, high skill jobs. The production of green energy metals will in turn support the entire Colorado green energy industry, including our three solar panel makers in the state. The overall economic impact of sensibly developing our mineral resources will be of high benefit to the entire Colorado economy.
